Howard Masterman

John Howard Bertram Masterman DD (known as Howard;^[1]; 1867–1933) was the inaugural Anglican Bishop of Plymouth.^[2]

He was educated at University College School^[3] and St John's College, Cambridge.^[4]^[5] Also a distinguished academic, he held incumbencies at St Aubyn Church, Devonport^[6] and St Mary-le-Bow in the City of London^[7] before his elevation to the Episcopate in 1923, a post he held to his death ten years later.
