Howard Masterman

John Howard Bertram Masterman DD (known as Howard;[1]; 1867–1933) was the inaugural Anglican Bishop of Plymouth.[2]

He was educated at University College School[3] and St John's College, Cambridge.[4][5] Also a distinguished academic, he held incumbencies at St Aubyn Church, Devonport[6] and St Mary-le-Bow in the City of London[7] before his elevation to the Episcopate in 1923, a post he held to his death ten years later.
